At this year's book fair, we are delighted to showcase the multicultural picture book, "Seeing a Different Mama" (《看見不一樣的Mama》), co-published by WEDO GLOBAL and the Family Development Foundation, as well as "MeowMeow is Missing!" (《MeowMeow不見了!》), a heartwarming picture book related to the community. These picture books were created in collaboration with the renowned author, Ms. Shirley Loo, BBS, MH, JP, driven by a shared belief in promoting inclusivity. We hope these picture books can accompany children through wonderful reading experiences, inspire children and their families to explore the diverse cultures within their community, cultivate curiosity and appreciation for different cultures, and broaden their horizons.

Multicultural Storytelling | Explore the multicultural world together
In the multicultural storytelling session, Ms. Loo and Cultural Ambassador Maya shared the interesting content of "Seeing a Different Mama" with the children in an engaging and interactive way. They told the story of how the two children from different ethnic backgrounds and their mothers became good friends, in order to teach the children to interact with people from diverse cultures with an open-minded heart and respectful attitude. In addition to discovering the multicultural elements hidden in the picture book, Ms. Loo and Maya also encouraged parents and children to explore new things in the community to build a more inclusive Hong Kong.
