We are grateful for the opportunity to share insights about the challenges and opportunities of ethnically diverse communities in Hong Kong on TVB's "A Closer Look: 時事多面睇."
While language barriers can present challenges for individuals in their job searches, it is also important to recognize the strengths, advantages, and opportunities they bring to organizations. Their skills, including but not limited to proficiency in multiple languages and cultural knowledge, are valuable. By sharing their insights and experiences with colleagues, they can enhance understanding of diverse cultures and sensitivity in the workplace.
At WEDO GLOBAL, over half of our team members come from diverse ethnic backgrounds. Our cultural ambassadors are able to communicate in multiple languages, including Cantonese, English, Mandarin and even their home languages, making participants feel comfortable to engage and ask questions, which enriches our multicultural experience.
Furthermore, many ethnically diverse community members with higher education qualifications are accessing a wider range of job opportunities, entering industries such as healthcare, education, technology, financial services, and hospitality. With the right opportunities and effective job matching, they can thrive and make significant contributions across various sectors.
